Emma Frost pens Zelda Fitzgerald biopic starring Jennifer Lawrence, Ron Howard in talks to direct
The Writers’ Company is thrilled to share the news that Emma Frost’s screenplay “Zelda” – about the life of Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife and muse of American author F. Scott Fitzgerald – is in development with Jennifer Lawrence set to star and Ron Howard in talks to direct. Allison Shearmur and Brian Oliver are producing.
Zelda was dubbed by her husband as “the first American Flapper,” but her life descended into madness after she was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Desperate to define herself through her own art, she used writing and painting as a form of expression and the film explores the question: Can love exist between creative equals?
Emma is showrunner on “The White Princess”, currently in production for Starz. The 8-part series is the follow up to 2013’s Emmy and Golden Globe nominated “The White Queen”. Her other credits include Jamaica Inn (Origin/BBC), The Man in the High Castle (Big Light/Amazon Prime), The Tunnel (Kudos/Sky) and Shameless (Company Pictures/Channel 4).
